Senior Community Service Employment Program (SCSEP)

Are you 55 or older, unemployed, living in San Francisco, low-income and looking for work? The Senior Community Service Employment Program (SCSEP) can help!

SCSEP is a federally funded job-readiness training program, helping older adults transition back into the workforce. We use community-based training sites and guidance in workforce development to help you develop the skills necessary to secure and succeed in part-time or full-time employment.

For over 40 years, SCSEP has helped unemployed adults 55 and over, and on a fixed income, overcome challenges to re-entering the workforce. It currently operates 22 projects in 11 states.

SCSEP is a program funded by the Department of Labor (DOL) and contracted to the National Council on Aging (NCOA), the nation’s leading nonprofit service and advocacy organization representing older adults. NCOA’s goal is to impact the health and economic security of 40 million older adults by 2030, especially women, people of color, LGBTQ+, low-income, and rural individuals.

Under NCOA, Felton Institute operates SCSEP in San Francisco and Marin County.
