Felton’s Individualized Intervention (FII) Program

Empowering children birth to five to build the skills they need to grow and thrive through one-on-one early intervention. Our personalized, caring support also strengthens relationships between children and their families.

Felton’s Individualized Intervention (FII) program provides one-on-one early intervention sessions led by a member of our Early Intervention & Inclusion (EII) team. Services take place in the home, classroom, or community, depending on each child’s Individualized Family Services Plan (IFSP) developed by the Golden Gate Regional Center (GGRC) or Felton’s individualized service plan.

EII team members assess each child’s progress and work toward specific developmental goals to help them succeed and thrive in their everyday environment. Progress is reviewed every 12 weeks to ensure interventions are effective and aligned with the child’s needs. Sessions are typically provided once per week, with the option for additional hours based on authorization and the child’s needs.

Felton’s Individualized Intervention (FII) program serves infants and toddlers from birth to five years old, helping families nurture their child’s growth during the most critical years of development.

Children in the program receive one-on-one sessions with an Early Intervention & Inclusion (EII) team member consisting of either an Early Interventionist or a Social Emotional Learning Specialist, depending on the child’s age and service location. EII team members support growth across key developmental domains including:

  • Social-emotional: Building relationships, expressing emotions appropriately, and developing confidence.
  • Communication: Strengthening verbal and nonverbal communication, including understanding language and using words or gestures in social interactions.
  • Adaptive: Enhancing everyday self-help skills such as feeding, dressing, and problem-solving to promote independence.
  • Physical skills: Supporting fine and gross motor skills and mobility needed for active participation in play and daily routines.

We also partner with parents and outside providers to create consistent strategies that help each child reach their goals.

Children under age three must meet the eligibility criteria established by the Golden Gate Regional Center (GGRC). Families can apply for eligibility through the GGRC website, by contacting 1-888-339-3305, or by email them at intake@ggrc.org.

Once eligibility is confirmed, families can request Felton’s Individualized Intervention program services by speaking with their GGRC Service Coordinator. For more information about Felton’s Early Intervention & Inclusion (EII) programs, please contact eiadm@felton.org.

Children over age three who are enrolled in at least one Felton program may access services through their on-site classroom team or by contacting eiadm@felton.org.

Services are available at all of Felton’s Early Care & Education (ECE) program sites, as well as in the childs home or community setting when approved on the child’s Individualized Family Service Plan (IFSP). All services are delivered in the childs natural environment, meaning they take place in settings the child normally attends rather than in a clinic.

Felton’s Individualized Intervention (FII) program services are offered through our Early Care & Education (ECE) program sites as well as community and home-based settings, depending on availability.
