Cohort Learning Community:

Join a supportive community of learners where you’ll receive academic support services including assessments, tutoring, study skills training, and college instruction through Foothill and EDvance College.

Asset-Based Education:

Discover and build upon your strengths, talents, and resources. Our program includes providing a space where your identity is affirmed and celebrated, empowering you to excel in the Early Care and Education field.

Competency- Based Education:

Progress through your education by mastering predetermined competencies, ensuring you have the skills and knowledge necessary for success. Our competency-based approach allows for personalized learning experiences tailored to your pace.

Practice-Based & Mentoring Approach:

Gain hands-on experience through work placements and internships while benefiting from mentoring by experienced Mentor Teachers. This approach fosters skill development and cultivates meaningful relationships within the field.

Related & Contextualized Instruction:

Receive instruction that is relevant and meaningful to your career goals. The program will provide you with theoretical knowledge and foundational principles in Early Childhood Education, ensuring you are well-prepared for the challenges and opportunities ahead.

Enhanced Supports & Incentives:

Access a range of support services to address your needs, including access to technology, equipment, mental health, education, and social services. Additionally, as you reach program milestones, financial incentives will be provided to further support your journey.

Financial Literacy & Wealth Building:

Develop essential financial literacy skills and access resources to support your financial well-being. Our program is committed to helping you access economic mobility and wealth to build a solid foundation for a successful future.

Nationally Recognized Credential and/or Degree:

Upon successfully completing the program, you will receive either a nationally recognized credential through the California Commission on Teaching Credentialing, or upgrade your credential, and/or a degree from a fully accredited institution of Higher Education, EDvance College. This achievement validates your expertise and greatly enhances your prospects for exciting career opportunities in the Early Care and Education field.

Felton Institute’s ECE REACH (Early Care and Education, Realizing Employment And Creating Hope) program is operated in collaboration with MEDA (Mission Economic Development Agency), Foothill College, and EDvance College.

ECE REACH is funded by the San Francisco Department of Early Childhood (SFDEC).

We are grateful to the California Workforce Development Board’s (CWDB) Workforce Accelerator Fund (WAF) and Workforce Innovation & Opportunity Act (WIOA) for their support and an 18-month grant to launch the inaugural ECE REACH apprenticeship program.
