Dr. George Woods is a licensed physician specializing in neuropsychiatry and consultation-liaison psychiatry, with over 39 years of clinical, forensic, and leadership experience.

Dr. Wood’s work focuses on neurodevelopmental disabilities, acquired neurocognitive disorders, psychiatric manifestations of medical illness, ethnopsychopharmacology, trauma, neurophilosophy of technology, and workplace safety. He has assessed and treated thousands of patients with traumatic stress, intellectual disabilities, brain injuries, mood and psychotic disorders, and complex co-morbid conditions.
Educated at the University of Utah School of Medicine and trained at Pacific Medical Center in San Francisco as Chief Resident, Dr. Woods also completed an APA/NIMH Fellowship in Geriatric Psychopharmacology, establishing one of the first combined medical/psychiatric units in the U.S. His expertise integrates neurology, psychopharmacology, neuroanatomy, sleep medicine, and cross-cultural psychiatry.
His global trauma work includes post-bombing recovery efforts in Kenya and Tanzania, assessing boy soldiers in Uganda, prison mental health initiatives in Malawi, and presentations to the Pakistani Supreme Court, UNESCO and the U.S. Congress among others on trauma and human rights.
Dr. Woods has provided his clinical expertise to diverse startup organizations, including DeepSleep, NewLevelWork, Grrithm, and Forefront Telemedicine.
A published author, educator, and Life Fellow of the American Psychiatric Association, Dr. Woods has served on faculty at UC Davis, Morehouse School of Medicine, and UC Berkeley School of Law. He continues to lead innovations in neuropsychiatry, neurophilosophy of technology, trauma-informed care, and forensic mental health worldwide.
