The Full Circle Family Program assists children and teens experiencing challenges in school through outpatient mental-health services.

Our goal is to provide quality mental health services throughout the San Francisco Unified School District by assisting students with meeting their educational goals. We work with classroom teachers, and school administrators to help create a plan to improve student performance.

Like adults, children and teens can experience challenges such as depression, low self-esteem, exposure to trauma, acting out in school or at home, neglect or abusive situations. Services like individual, group and family therapy along with consultations, care management and medication evaluation and management can help. FCFP takes a family systems approach, working with children among their constellation of caregivers, family, teachers and broader support systems.

Making outpatient services more accessible to populations with the greatest need, such as foster care children, LGBTQ-identified youth, children with serious emotional problems, homeless children and other under-served populations, means that we can reach more children in need of mental health assistance. Services are available in several languages.

Like all of our programs, FCFP stresses the importance of welcoming clients from all backgrounds, regardless of race, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, language, experience or lack of insurance.

Our staff are trained in rigorous evidence-based practices, strength-based approaches and cultural competency, in order to ensure that our care and services are high-quality, address issues within the family and promote positive client outcomes.

Reaching and providing services to the highest-risk, most vulnerable, and under-served populations is our mandate.

Referral sources include the San Francisco County Mental Health Department, San Francisco Unified School District, foster care and social service programs, as well as parents themselves.
